| | TVROCP students learn to perform preventative maintenance on process equipment and instrumentation, read and interprets charts, meters, and gauges; collect lab samples, and perform simple analytical tests. Graduates of this program will be familiar with the equipment at a treatment plant and understand the biological, chemical, and physical processes that remove harmful contaminants from wastewater before it is recycled or returned to the environment. Students attend class one evening per week, from September through June, and work as unpaid interns for an average of 12 hours per week. Students become “operators in training” at a working wastewater treatment plant. During their internship, they work directly with certified treatment plant personnel to observe operation and maintenance procedures. | |
