• What is UC a-g?


    The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) colleges require high school students to complete 15 UC a-g approved courses. In the UC a-g plan, 11 of those courses should be complete by the end of the 11th grade. Students must maintain a C or better in these courses to meet the requirements. See below for the UC a-g course chart and the TVROP course offerings that are UC a-g approved. More courses will be pending approval as of February 1, 2018.

    Students must complete the following:

    UC a-g courses

    • "a" Two years of History/Social Studies

    • "b" Four years of English

    • "c" Three years of Mathematics (Four years recommended)

    • "d" Two years of Science (Three years recommended)

    • "e" Two years of Foreign Language (Three years recommended)

    • "f" One year of Visual and Performing Arts

    • "g" College Prep Elective (Two semesters)
